As many of you know, for the past year, we have been trying to add to our family via foster to adopt. We have now had three devastating fall-throughs, and are ready to move on to a private adoption agency. Unfortunately, adoption is very costly. We know this all too well, as we also adopted our 6 year old daughter at birth through a private agency. To try to offset the cost of this adoption to bring the newest member of our family home, we are doing multiple fundraisers. One of these fundraisers is a HUGE deal to my clients. I am going to be offering Adoption Fundraiser Mini-Sessions. All of the money from these mini-sessions will be going in to our adoption fund, to hopefully bring our baby home by the end of 2011. I am so excited to share this new product with all of you! I have been offering them for a few months now, but am just now getting around to getting product photos up.

This is a 5x7 image box, that is available with the purchase of my digital collection. The image box is customized with a picture of your choice, and I color coordinate the back with your photo. In addition, you get a custom designed DVD to hold your digital images. Each image box comes with 20 5x7 reference prints, so that you know what your digital images should look like in printed form, when you print them for yourself.

The box comes in a beautiful matte finish with a magnetic closure. It can be ordered with a horizontal or vertical picture. My clients that have received their boxes just love them! It's a great way to store your photos, and a way to keep your DVDs of session images organized.

The Sardella family will soon be adding a new little blessing. As we move toward 2011, my hubby and I will be adding to our family through the gift of adoption. Emma is SO excited to be a big sister.

I wanted to let my clients know that I will be taking a break from shooting once our child is placed in our home. Unfortunately, we don't know when that may be! This is the nature of adoption. We are in the last stages of the approval process. We have made it through our classes, waded through a sea of paperwork, and are half way through the home visit process. So, by the end of 2010, we should be approved to adopt. It will be business as usual, and I will be taking sessions until we hear of a placement. At that time, I am going to be taking a short leave to spend time bonding with our new son or daughter. For my baby plan customers, I will make sure your shoots stay on time! For all of my other clients, please continue to book as usual, and I will let you know when my leave will begin.

I first met Chloe's family when I cared for her older brother in the NICU over 8 years ago. Would you like to learn how to create beautiful newborn images like the ones above?

I am holding a newborn posing class to teach you all the basics of working with newborns, as a photographer. We will go over my setup, talking with the parents about what to expect during the setup, handling the baby, getting baby to sleep, and several different newborn poses.

This class is scheduled for Sunday, June 27. Time is TBD. I will be taking 5 photographers for this class. You need not be a pro, just want to learn how to work with newborns for shoots. Depending on the interest for this class, I may be adding future classes. Cost for the class will be $125, and will include lunch. However, I will be the only one handling the baby.

I first photographed these little babes when they were still in Mom's tummy and then again as newborns. Now they are almost 6 months old and have changed so much! I have no idea how their mom does it! She has these two, plus a 2 year old little girl. We had quite an adventure during our session, with their mom getting stuck in the snow outside my house. I first met Cooper back in September, as a newborn. He was so cute with so much hair. At 4 months, he is still such a handsome boy...and look at that hair. I find this age so hard to photograph, because they never want to smile for the camera. Cooper was no different :) He was Mr. Stoic when I had the camera. When the camera was away...he was talking and smiling at me. We still got some super shots! It's so neat to see these little ones grow up through my lens.

I have been photographing this family for a year now. I was super excited when they asked me to do newborn pictures of Baby Eli, at the tender age of 8 days, in addition to their Christmas pictures this year. He was such a sweet baby! The day after these pictures were taken, Eli was admitted to the hospital with a congenital heart defect, and had to undergo surgery. He was a trooper and did wonderfully. He was home quickly and is now growing like a weed. Thanks to Amy and Aaron for giving me the opportunity to photograph Eli, Lily, and Sophie this year.

I met with Chris back in November for his Senior Portrait shoot. He has the neatest program at his school, that lets kids train to be firefighters and police officers while they are in school. He has been working at the Columbus Fire Department, and has just become certified to go out on runs. It was very important to him to have pics done at the firehouse and in his fire gear. I have to admit, it was a neat experience for me, and Chris is a great kid! Have a great Senior Year!

I met up with this beautiful family last weekend. They have a 12 year old son, and three girls, ages 5, 2, and 9 months. We did a couple of family shots, and did individuals of the girls. Mom had the two older girls' pictures done in the same dress the baby is in here. It was important to her to have them all photographed in this dress. I think that is such a neat tradition. I've been itching to get my hands on this family for quite a while now :) I have known them since their oldest was about 2 years old, and Kendal's now 5 1/2! Seth is 2 1/2 and Baby Taylor is just about 6 months old. I just adore this family and their kiddos. We had a great time, and the kids were such little troopers. I had to post the last pic of little Taylor crying, because she's such a happy baby and full of smiles...but did not want to sit up! Once we laid her down, she was all smiles. For those of you that have followed me for a while, you know that I held a Premie Contest back in April, in honor of the March of Dimes. Well, this fall, I'd like to offer another contest. October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss and Awareness Month, as well as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This contest is open to anyone who has lost an infant or pregnancy, or has been touched by breast cancer. Instead of submitting your story, I want you to submit a photo that shows how you support either pregnancy and infant loss awareness or breast cancer awareness. Get creative! For instance, you could dye your hair pink, and hold a sign that says "I am pink and support breast cancer awareness." The winner will receive a free session, a free 8x10, a proof album of all photos from their session, and 25% off all prints! Entries must be submitted by November 1st. Introducing….Portrait Parties!

What is a portrait party?

A portrait party is exactly what it sounds like. It is a party hosted by you, in your home, or at an outdoor space of your choosing. You invite 4-12 families (with up to 4 family members each) to attend. You provide the photography space, refreshments for your guests, and the party itself! I will provide the photography. Each family receives a 20 minute session. The host or hostess’ family receives a 30 minute session prior to the party’s start.

What does it cost?

Absolutely nothing! Your guests receive a complimentary 20 minute session. Their proofs are then available online within 2 weeks for them to place an order. They are under no obligation to purchase any images. However, you, as the host, receive 20% in print credits off the total sales from your party. So, if your party generates $1000 in portrait sales, then you receive a $200 print credit. So, it is your job as the host to help generate sales from your show, to increase the amount of free prints you receive!

What do I need to do to book a portrait party?

Contact me at erasphotography@gmail.com or 614-893-9861 to book your portrait party date. I will then provide you with the portrait party guest information and portrait party agreements for your guests. I will need you to confirm your guests 2 weeks prior to your party, and provide me with a guest list. You will also need to provide me with your portrait party schedule, giving each family a 20 minute time slot. That’s all there is to it!

What if one of my guests wants to book a portrait party?

If your guest chooses to book a portrait party, then you receive a free 8x10 for every party that is booked! Again, more free portraits for you! And, your guest will earn free print credits at their party as well.
